All New DataLogic 3000 Data Collection Platform Offers Robust Communication, Processing
Working hard to help our customers efficiently meet their growing data acquisition, management and control demands, we are proud to introduce the Stevens DL3000 (Stevens DataLogic 3000) data collection platform. The Steven’s DL3000 is a powerful, versatile and scalable data logger. Adopting state-of-the-art data processing technology, the DL3000 is ready to meet your data acquisition, processing, control (SCADA) and communications requirements.
32 bit processor. At the core of the SL3000 is a 32-bit ARM Ltd. and Microchip Inc. dsPIC microprocessor for robust data collection and processing capabilities. The 32-bit ARM facilitates the support of multiple vendors’ devices, and easily ports code between them in a single integrated development environment. Compared to lower data bit processors, the 32-bit ARM increases the volume and efficiency of processing I/O data tasks at very low power consumption. The digital signal processing integrated circuit (dsPIC) optimizes high-speed data manipulation, real-time applications, communications, image processing, data acquisition, and control.
Multiple communication interface options. The DL3000 communication includes four (4) RS232 serial ports, RS 422/485, CAN Bus, optional Modbus, high-speed USB 2.0, removable SD memory card, Internet accessibility, and Ethernet. Choose the Ethernet option to communicate with the PC over long distances, on a local area network (LAN), and even over the Internet. Some communication interface can be done via Bluetooth and ZigBee wireless technology.
User Interface and configuration options include touch screen LCD display, Windows PC / PDA software, and generic terminal program.
Enormous memory. The DL3000 has 2 gigabytes of internal, non-volatile memory plus expandable memory using SD card (the same kind used in digital cameras, PDA’s and PCs). Currently SD cards can store up to 8 gigabytes of data.
Inputs. The Stevens DL3000 is compatible with a wide range of sensors and most types of signals, including isolated analog, that select measurement ranges based on input voltage and offer voltage protection for reliability in noisy environments. Other single ended or differential signals include SDI-12, temperature, 0-5 VDC, current, 4-20mA loops, resistance, bridges, strain gauges, LVDTs, thermocouples, load, pressure, quadrature, pulse and frequency – all returned in engineering units of user’s choice.
Programmable. The DL3000 on-board, Visual Basic-like programming language and application library enables the user to perform mathematical functions, equations and customized operations.
Outputs. The DL3000 features enhanced digital and analog outputs for user control of sensors, actuators, instrumentation, equipment and alarms.
Telemetry, data management and control. Linking the DL3000 to telemetry modems (such as radios, cell / phone modems, and satellite transmitters), GPS, scales, PLC’s and other intelligent devices is made simple via multiple serial UART ports for high-speed communications and controls. With Internet connectivity, unlimited data processing and management enabled through richly evolving web services, applications and data become easier to implement, manage and view directly from the web in the comfort of an office or a remote location with internet access.
Furthermore, the DL3000 easily enables visual data analysis using camera attachment with video surveillance, allowing optional photographs or video to be taken based on user defined triggered events.
As the hub of any data management system, the DL3000 easily adapts to current data collection / processing requirements and has plenty of spare capacity for future additions to customer data collection, monitoring and control systems. The DL3000 system is a modular design that is configurable and expandable through the use of plug-in communication and additional I/O modules. The modules are easily connected to the base DL3000 and are field configurable. As such the user has the option of adding concurrent telemetry options and as many channels and controls as needed to satisfy the application requirement.
