Our solar radiation shield is designed to shield our Air Temperature Sensor from direct sunlight. The wedge-shaped plates provide maximum airflow around the probe while minimizing exposure of the probe tip to sunlight.

The shield is shaped to allow natural air convection around the probe so that the air around the probe so that the air being measured inside the shield is an accurate representation of the outside air.

The shield also provides protection from rain and snow.
